Project Description
Garden Well Main forms part of Regis’ underground growth strategy.
The project will open a new mining domain directly below the base of the current Garden Well openpit, with resource definition drilling delineating mineralisation from 250 m to 500 m below ground level.
Predevelopment access will be from the existing Garden Well South mine, which has established power, ventilation, water and mine access.
Early development will be focused on establishing the dedicated portal decline, and fresh air and return raise positions for access and ventilation.
Garden Well Main will be mined using longitudinal retreat stoping with backfill, and is based on bottom-up panel mining to improve productivity, as independent working areas will be established.
Each panel will have four levels with a 25 m interval between each level.
The development and stoping schedule across the life-of-mine has been sequenced to allow for a relatively rapid extraction rate of the mining inventory, with an annualised mining rate of up to an estimated 900 000 t.
Production is targeted at between 60 000 oz and 70 000 oz from the 2027 financial year.
