London-listed Galileo Resources has defined three potential drill targets with a combined strike length of about 6 km on its PL253 licence in the Kalahari Copper Belt of Botswana.

The three targets, which are all located within the southern sector of the licence area, were identified using a geochemical survey.

Galileo explains that the targets' neighbouring licences are held by ASX-listed Cobre Limited. Galileo’s soil anomaly maps have shown that its targets appear contiguous and associated with the same geological features as those of Cobre’s licences.

A fourth possible target area is located to the north of the recent discoveries along strike of Cobre’s Tlou target, which Galileo intends to follow up with test work and possible drilling to better define the target.

Notably, Cobre has been selected for the 2024 BHP Xplor Programme, which Galileo CEO and chairperson Colin Bird says reflects the quality of the Kalahari Copper Belt licences.

“Current published information quite clearly shows our new targets to be contiguous with known targets and mineralisation on these highly prospective licences,” he adds, confirming that the three targets will be drilled in the near term.
