JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The North Gauteng High Court on Tuesday dismissed the former directors of Aurora, Solly and Fazel Bhana’s application to appeal an earlier ruling.

The directors were previously found liable for R35-million in the Aurora Empowerment Systems case, which saw the directors, including President Jacob Zuma’s nephew Khulubuse Zuma, strip the assets of the liquidated Pamodzi Gold's mines.

In the appeal application, the Bhana’s already indicated that neither they nor their family would be in the financial position to pay the amount and they would, therefore, be sequestrated soon.

“Today, justice was served for the hundreds of Aurora employees and this judgment is an indication that the others involved in this matter will not be able to hide from justice,” Solidarity general-secretary Gideon du Plessis said.
