Fluor Igoda Projects (Pty) Ltd, an engineering, procurement, project and construction management (EPCM) services company, was awarded a five-year contract by SAPREF (South African Petroleum Refiners (Pty) Ltd) for the provision of professional services and resources.

The contract commenced in March 2017 and is scheduled to end in February 2022. “Services include engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM), project development, front end engineering design (FEED), commissioning as well as secondments to SAPREF,” said Rishad Khan, managing director, Fluor Igoda Projects.

“Fluor Igoda Projects will implement its Zero Base ExecutionSM approach to develop fit-forpurpose
design and utilise its in-depth knowledge of the refinery, as well as global experience with similar projects, to execute this project successfully.”

Services will be executed from a site-based office at SAPREF’s Durban refinery supported as needed from the Umhlanga office, Woodmead as well as other Fluor global offices. The expected peak is 150 000 man hours per annum.

“We have been supporting SAPREF continuously for the past 24 years. From secondments to forming a formidable alliance with our Client, the company will continue to offer value to SAPREF while maintaining the highest workmanship and expertise,” added Khan.

“Fluor Igoda Projects offers integrated solutions to all our clients and specialise in onsite-based activities and cost competitive execution models. This latest award is a sign of our professional reputation, as well as a testament to the value we bring to our clients,” concluded Khan.
