HSE Director Charleen Kruger is a respected long-term employee of Fluor in South Africa, an American multinational engineering, procurement and construction firm. Kruger is responsible for managing health, safety & environmental (HSE) for the Africa region.

Her levels of responsibility include the development and implementation of HSE management systems; review of HSE metrics and incident causation; approval of contractor HSE plans and conducting corporate HSE audits and leadership training.

Kruger exemplifies Fluor’s core values of safety, integrity, teamwork and excellence. She has a strong behavioural compass and works tirelessly to build and sustain Fluor’s Safer Together culture across sites and offices within her region of responsibility.

Building positive relationships with clients and contractors, as well as interacting with her teams and the communities in which Fluor works, is fundamental to her management style. She also actively participates in the implementation of initiatives to enhance diversity & inclusion across the region.
