Vehicle leasing and fleet management solutions provider Avis Fleet Services has streamlined its day-to-day financial management processes and enhanced the quality of its financial reporting by implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) company Sage’s ERP X3 financial modules.
Sage ERP Africa and business and technology solutions supplier Lorge worked together on implementing the solution, and providing training and ongoing project support to Avis.
“We implemented an integrated Sage ERP X3 solution using our proven methodology,” says Lorge divisional manager for Sage ERP X3 Jonty Katz, explaining that the solution provides a flexible and scalable platform for Avis Fleet Services to standardise processes and business rules, creating the best practice foundation for its future growth and expansion.
“With Sage ERP X3, we help clients take control of their business. It provides an at-a-glance dashboard of the whole company, offering insight and intelligence when and where it is needed via a responsive user interface,” he continues.
Sage ERP Africa VP and Middle East head Keith Fenner adds: “Today’s businesses need financial solutions that are simple to use, yet flexible enough to meet complex and changing business requirements.”
Avis CFO Michelle Erasmus points out that, after evaluating several alternative solutions, including the next-generation system from Avis’s incumbent provider, Avis chose Sage ERP X3 as it was a cost-effective and feature-rich platform.
“Moreover, the strong user and reseller community for Sage ERP X3 meant that there would be strong local support and skills for the solution,” she adds.
Now that the solution is live, Erasmus says the financial team at Avis is starting to see the benefits of integrated and standardised processes, which led to improved functionality of day-to-day tasks such as reconciliations, creditors, debtors and ageing, and richer reporting.
Avis started the search for a new financial management platform about two years ago as part of its growth and expansion strategy.
“I needed a solution that would provide me with better financial visibility in monthly reporting and one that would enable us to move towards more automated processes in our day-to-day financial work,” says Erasmus.
She adds that Avis now has real-time financial reporting and intelligent dashboards that provide her with information she can use. “The solution is also intuitive and user-friendly. It’s still early days, but I feel that we are already far ahead of where we were with our legacy platform,” she concludes.
