Project Description
The project aims to build the largest fertiliser plant in Africa to increase the country’s production.

The project will be built in southern Tanzania, near big offshore gas finds, and is expected to be commissioned
in 2020.

The plant will have the capacity of 3 800 t/y and is expected to create more than 5 000 jobs.

Value
The project is expected to cost an estimated $3-billion to implement.

Duration
The plant is expected to be operational in 2021.

Latest Developments
The TPDC has signed joint venture agreements with German group Ferrostaal Industrial Projects, Danish industrial catalysts producer Haldor Tapsoe and Pakistan’s Fauji Fertilizer Company to develop the plant.
