Name of the Project
Fécamp offshore wind farm.

Location
The project will be located 13 km to 22 km off the shore of Fécamp, Normandy, in France.

Project Owner/s
EDF Renewables, Enbridge and wpd Offshore.

Project Description
With a total power output of 500 MW, the 71-turbine Fécamp offshore wind farm is expected to produce the equivalent of the domestic electricity consumption of about 770 000 people.

Potential Job Creation
The construction of the project will create more than 1 400 local jobs. During its 25-year service life, about 100 local ongoing full-time jobs, based at the Port of Fécamp, will also be created to maintain the wind farm.

Capital Expenditure
The project is estimated at €2-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
Project commissioning is scheduled for 2023.

Latest Developments
Bouygues Travaux Publics, in consortium with Saipem and Boskalis, has been awarded the design work, construction and installation scope for 71 concrete gravity-based structures for the Fécamp offshore wind farm. The award was made by EDF Renewables, Enbridge Inc and wpd Offshore. The wind turbines will be connected to the gravity-based foundations installed on the seabed at depths between 25 m and 30 m. The works should be completed by the end of 2022. The contract is valued at €552-million. RTE is responsible for connecting the wind farm from the substation to the coast and then to Normandy’s electricity grid.

Key Contracts and Suppliers
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (71 wind turbines); Bouygues Construction, Saipem and Boskalis (foundations); Chantiers de l’Atlantique, GE Grid Solutions and SDI (offshore substation); and RTE (substation connection).
