A haul truck driver has died at the Gold Bar mine in Nevada, owner McEwen Mining reported on Monday.

The driver was a contractor employee. The individual was fatally injured when the haul truck overturned while operating at the site.

An investigation is under way to determine how the accident happened, chairperson and chief owner Rob McEwen said in a media statement.

“We are all deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life on our mine site. Our immediate focus is to support his family, friends and colleagues at this most difficult time,” he said.
