In light of strong demand in response to JSE-listed real estate investment trust (Reit) Fairvest’s capital raise, which was announced early on August 25, the company will issue the maximum number of new shares that it is authorised to issue.

Fairvest raised about R976-million through the issue of new B shares to invited investors.

The Reit had initially set out to raise R400-million.

Fairvest will use the funds raised for acquisitions and investments that are strategically aligned and accretive to Fairvest, and if pending, for debt reduction and other short-term treasury management alternatives.
