JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office (BCEAO) will start an environmental assessment review of TSX- and NYSE-listed Taseko Mines’ Aley niobium project in northern British Columbia.

Additionally, the Federal Minister of Environment had granted substitution of the environmental assessment to British Columbia, giving the BCEAO oversight of and responsibility for the Aley environmental assessment process.

“We are looking forward to working with the province of British Columbia to move our Aley project forward. We anticipate, and are fully prepared for a rigorous review by the province and, over the course of the next few months, will develop a detailed environmental-assessment schedule,” Taseko president and CEO Russell Hallbauer commented.
