Project Description
The energy-from-waste plant, located in the Sakra area of Jurong Island, will offer an economical and environment-friendly source of steam to serve the needs of companies in the vicinity.
The plant will be equipped with two boilers, with a combined capacity of 140 t/hr of steam. Compared to a coal-fired steam plant, it will produce about 50% less greenhouse-gas emissions. With the project’s completion, Sembcorp will be able to supply a third of its customers’ steam needs in Singapore using environmentally friendly alternative fuel.

The project is estimated at S$250-million.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2016.
