The project involves the design and construction of the middle section of the El Sillar road, a 28 km freeway between Cochabamba and Santa Cruz – the most important business centre in Bolivia.
The project entails the widening and upgrading of the existing road NR 4 to a two-way, four-lane roadway, including the construction of four bridges and two tube-tunnels.
