A revised environmental-impact assessment (EIA) report for the proposed development of State-owned Eskom’s Richards Bay combined cycle power plant (CCPP), and its associated infrastructure, is available for review and comment from July 24 to August 26.

Subsequent to the report’s initial release in March, the report has been updated with additional information.

The revised EIA report is available for download from Savannah Environmental and Eskom’s websites.

The proposed development comprises a CCPP with a generating capacity of up to 3 000 MW.

The development is proposed to be located on portion two and portion four of Erf 11376, which is situated within Phase 1D of the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone, in KwaZulu-Natal.

Written comments, which are due by August 26, and requests for further information can be submitted to Savannah Environmental’s Nicolene Venter at publicprocess@savannahsa.com
