Project Description
The project was identified as a preferred project in the fourth round of the Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme in April 2015.

The solar project will be built on Portion 12 of the farm Dyasonklip 454, about 15 km south-west of Upington, over 208 ha.

It involves the construction of a solar PV plant, which will have a contracted capacity of 75 MW, comprising 278 polycrystalline PV modules and 37 inverters, with a horizontal single-axis tracker system. The facility will connect to an on-site switching station, which will connect to the 400/132 kV Upington main transmission substation.
