A drive system development kit targeted for use by design engineers, application specialists and developers, is now available. The system offers faster development and deployment for motor-control based solutions.

The new system promises a flexible solution with the ability to program and upload different control functionalities, even with a motor in place. In addition, a development controller helps interact with the motor and the software, which comes with the kit and provides visualisation of the control strategy during the development stage.

RS Components, the trading brand of Electrocomponents, a multi-channel provider of industrial and electronic products and solutions, announced the launch of the K4 Drive System Development Kit (K4DSDK) from ebm-papst, a manufacturer of fan and motor drive products.

The company is the first distributor to stock this product and has been working with ebm-papst to demonstrate the potential of the drive motors via its DesignSpark engineering community. Supporting content is available on the DesignSpark website, demonstrating how to use the drive system and its range of application examples.

The drive system development kit is available across sub-Saharan Africa and the application development content is available on the website https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/development-kits-to-deliver-motor-drive-solutions
