Sapics 2014 tuned out to be a big success for logistics software provider Dovetail Business Solutions. The company was geared and ready for the event which kicked off on June 1, 2014 at Sun City and closed off with a gala dinner on June 3, 2014. Apart from enjoying a vast amount of industry stakeholders and visitors to its stand, Dovetail also engaged visitors with its new products; MobileControl on Android and the Container Transport Solution.

These technologies were developed and updated by Dovetail in 2013 and hold great promise with regard to increasing efficiencies in the container and transport industries and are geared at ensuring a move towards mobile integration and increased supply chain visibility for logistics companies.  Further, a great deal of interest was reflected in the pre-launch glimpse of Dovetail’s book: ‘The Book on Logistics Software’, which will officially be launched at the Bryanston Country Club on June 25, 2014. “In collaboration with the exhibitions theme for 2014 ‘Supply Chain Resilience’, Dovetail’s stand boasted its new solutions and its book which are geared towards assisting logistics companies to gain increased visibility and control over logistics processes,” explaind Dovetail’s Sales Director Ralf Rolle.

The 36th annual SAPICS Conference & Exhibition provided delegates with the opportunity to discuss topics around supply chain resilience and comprised a valuable programme packed with presentations by both local and international supply chain management experts. Running alongside the conference programme was an exhibition of over 50 different companies sharing insights and demonstrations of progressive technology and supply chain best practices and solutions. “Sapics provides a platform to the African logistics industry where stakeholders can look at the opportunities and challenges present, show each other their innovations and collaborate on ensuring that Africa keeps growing and prospers and, ultimately, hosts a resilient supply chain,” concludes Rolle.
