Project Description
The project entails the construction, operation and maintenance of a 158 MW wind farm and ancillary facilities, including a 35/400 kV substation, a 10.8-km-long 400 kV power line, an underground medium-voltage power cable network connecting the turbines with the substation, a network of access roads and a control building, in Kovin.

The project comprises fifty-seven 2.78 MW wind turbines, with a turbine rotor diameter of 120 m and a hub height of 110 m.

The project will be constructed through an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract arrangement whereby General Electric Wind Energy (GE) and Austrian construction firm PORR will form a consortium that will manage all construction activities on behalf of the company. GE will supply, transport, install, test and commission the wind turbines, as well as provide full operation and management services during the first 15 years of project operations.

PORR is the civil contractor and will build the access roads, the turbine foundations and the 400 kV power line civil works.

Specialist design, engineering, electric power supply equipment supplier ELNOS will be responsible for building the medium-/high-voltage components of the project, including the underground medium-voltage cable system, switching facilities and the 400 kV power line.
