Project Description
The project involves the construction and operation of a large-scale wind farm that will diversify Namibia’s energy mix, reduce reliance on fossil fuels and contribute to national development goals.

The 44 MW wind farm will comprise 11 turbines and produce 226 969 MWh/y of renewable electricity. 

This represents about 6% of Namibia’s electricity demand and 13% of the country’s production, allowing for a significant reduction in electricity imports.

The wind farm will displace about 177 000 t/y of CO2.

South African banking group Standard Bank will provide N$1.2-billion for the construction of the project.
