The new closing date for mineral sands miner Diatreme Resources’ offmarket takeover of fellow ASX-listed Metallica Minerals has been extended to June 3.

Following acceptances from the two biggest Metallica shareholders and many other shareholders, Diatreme currently has a relevant interest of 44.26% in its takeover target.

“We are pleased with the support for the offer to date. We strongly encourage all remaining shareholders to accept our attractive offer before it closes,” said CEO Neil McIntyre on Friday.

Diatreme is offering 1.3319 shares for each Metallica share.
