Project Description
The Great Hall project consists of upgrading the Jeppesen terminal at DEN, encompassing more than 70 000 m2 of floor space.
The upgrades include creating new shopping and foodservice areas, relocating and expanding the transport security administration (TSA) screening areas, improving building access and passenger flow, creating a new check-in area and optimising space and efficiency in the terminal.
Potential Job Creation
The project will create about 450 construction jobs and more than 800 permanent jobs.
Value
The cost to design and build the project will be between $650-million and $770-million, which includes an airport-added contingency of $120-million to accommodate unexpected issues or changes in TSA or airline processing in the next few years.
Duration
The project was approved in August 2017. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2018, with the project expected to be completed by late 2021.
Latest Developments
Great Hall Partners, an alliance between Ferrovial Airports, Saunders Construction and JLC, has been awarded a contract for the remodelling and commercial operation of the Jeppesen terminal at DEN.
The 34-year concession represents an investment of $650-million. In the next few months, Great Hall Partners will advance towards financial closure, which is expected to be achieved in the fourth quarter of this year.
