DEHN Africa and local partner, Lightning Protection Services, collaborated and participated in the recent 16th annual African Utility Week and Clean Power Africa. The only global meeting place, conference and trade exhibition for African power and water utility professionals; this event took place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 17 to 19 May 2016, providing a great arena for engineers, stakeholders and solution providers alike to meet and share ideas.

This was the second year for the involvement of both ULPS and DEHN Africa as the organisations booked a combined stand for the three-day event in order to showcase DEHN’s lightning and surge protection product offering as well as safety equipment, such as, photovoltaic, data protection, AC & DC protection, voltage detectors, phase comparators, the new aluminium short circuiting devices, arc fault protection and more. The two companies did not just focus on products; they also educated delegates through technical workshops about the importance of proper lightning and surge protection solutions for rooftops and standalone PV plants.

“Together with ULPS, DEHN Africa had a positive experience at African Utility Week. We believe that the event is a great platform to reach the African energy sector professionals and inform them about our capabilities as well as for us to learn about other products in the industry. It is also an ideal arena to interact and network with like-minded organisations and individuals,“ comments Kirk Risch, sales and marketing director at DEHN Africa. “The energy sector in Africa has immense potential, even though it is faced with many challenges, and it is part of our mission to have a positive impact by alleviating these problems through creating innovative solutions and by sharing our knowledge through the DEHNacademy training programme for young graduates In any way possible, we are pleased to contribute in moving the continent’s industry forward.”

The market leader DEHN, a globally active family-owned electrotechnical company with more than 1600 employees worldwide, offers innovative products and solutions as well as comprehensive services in the field of surge protection, lightning protection and safety equipment.

DEHN focuses on the protection of system and building technology, the transportation, telecommunication and process sector, photovoltaic systems, wind turbines, etc. The company's continuous growth is based on more than 100 years of tradition and experience as well as highest quality standards and consistent customer and market orientation throughout the world.
