Daimler Trucks & Buses Southern Africa (DTBSA) has named Ziyad Gaba as customer service, parts and downstream VP, and Maretha Gerber as sales and marketing VP.

Gaba was previously at the helm of Fuso Trucks Southern Africa, while Gerber was head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Southern Africa.

These changes follow as DTBSA prepares to split from Mercedes-Benz South Africa, in line with a global separation between Daimler Trucks and Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Gerber and Gaba will report directly to DTBSA president and CEO Michael Dietz.

“I can confirm that this new setup has our customers’ best interest at heart,” notes Dietz.

“Both Maretha and Ziyad are seasoned industry leaders and they have an in-depth knowledge of DTBSA and our markets.

“Their new roles create excellent opportunities to accelerate the growth and sustainability of the company, giving us the framework we need to continue prioritising the diverse needs of our customers.”
