Project Description
The D4 Highway and R7 Expressway project envisages the construction of the southern part of Bratislava ring road and parts of the southern expressway network, linking the west and the east parts of Slovakia.
The D4 Highway sections comprise the Jarovce to Ivanka North link (23 km) and D4 Highway Ivanka North to Rača link (4 km), which form part of the comprehensive Trans-European Transport Network programme.
The D4 Highway sections are about 27 km long and include eight interchanges and 55 overpasses, including a sequence of five bridges with an aggregate length of about 3.3 km over the Danube river.
The R7 Expressway will connect the D4 and D1 highways and comprise the Bratislava Prievoz to Ketelec link (6.3 km), the R7 Expressway Ketelec to Dunajska Luûna link (8.5 km) and the R7 Expressway Dunajska Luûna to Holice link (17.4 km), for a total estimated length of about 32 km.
The project includes five interchanges and 29 overpasses.

The project is estimated at $1.3-billion.
Duration
The project is expected to start construction in the first half of next year and to enter operation in about 2020.
