Marlene Wasserman (Dr Eve) is a Couples and Sex Therapist and Clinical Sexologist in private practice. She began her career by graduating at the University of the Witwatersrand with a BA Social Work Hons. (Cum Laude) degree. After completing a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work, specialising in family therapy at the University of the Orange Free State, she became an internationally accredited Couples and Sex Therapist through AASECT (American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists). In 2000 Marlene attained a Doctoral degree from the Institute of Advanced Studies in Human Sexuality, San Francisco, CA. USA.

Marlene is a parent, a partner, a person. In addition to practising international standards of clinical work, she is an author, an educator, a media personality and a sexual activist. She devotes her life with passion to educating, informing, and ensuring the sexual and reproductive health rights of all people. She is the African editor of Sexual and Relationship Therapy, a UK-based international academic journal and a board member of a number of local NGO’s.

Relationship work with couples is her clinical challenge which she embraces with humility. Marlene creates many forums in which people can engage with her. Presently she uses the mediums of radio, as well as television, as she has for the last 14 years, her website, teaching and lecturing at UCT Medical School and SACAP, and she is a key opinion leader to pharmaceutical companies. Her book The Pillowbook, published by Oshun in in 2007, was a bestseller.
