Project Description
The Culzean project is a an ultrahigh-pressure, high-temperature gas condensate development project, located about 233 km east of Aberdeen, in the UK sector of the Central North Sea.
The field development comprises three platforms – a wellhead platform; a central processing platform, with a flare tower and separate living quarters; and a utility platform. Forecast plateau production is between 400-million and 500-million standard cubic feet a day.

Latest Developments
KBR has been awarded a contract by Maersk Oil for topsides and front-end engineering and design (Feed) for the Culzean project.
Further, Maersk Oil has signed a $420-million contract with Hercules Offshore for the use of a new build jack-up that is scheduled to be delivered in April 2016.
The rig will be based on the Friede & Goldman JU-2000E design, but will include enhancements agreed upon by Maersk Oil, Jurong Shipyard and Hercules. The enhancements will give the rig greater load-bearing capabilities and operational flexibility.
