Three Copper Fox execs resign
JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – TSX-listed Copper Fox Metals on Friday announced that executive VP Michael Smith, who had been involved with Copper Fox since its inception, was retiring effective September 1.
Smith, who was leaving the company at a high point after having accomplished the formation of a joint venture with Canadian diversified miner Teck Resources, was committed to remaining an active member of Copper Fox’s board of directors.
Copper Fox operations VP Cam Grundstrom and environment and permitting VP Shane Uren were also resigning as officers of the company as of September 1.
Grundstrom and Uren intended to remain involved in the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Desert Fox Copper on an as-required consultancy basis.
“We are grateful for the tremendous accomplishments of our executive team through the exploration and development of the Schaft Creek project and the formation of the Teck joint venture. We are happy with their decisions and motivation to remain involved with Desert Fox, and I look forward to our continued success together as we concentrate on Desert Fox,” Copper Fox president Elmer Stewart commented.
