The Competition Commission has amended the completion date for the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market inquiry to December 20, to allow sufficient time for it to finalise its report outlining the findings.

In August 2014, the commission issued the terms of reference for the market inquiry, formally launching and outlining the scope of the inquiry. The commission believed there were features of the LPG sector that prevented, distorted or restricted competition.

The commission published its preliminary findings in January this year and proposed recommendations.

The public was invited to make submissions on the proposed recommendations. The commission is now finalising its report.
