Massbuild, the DIY division of Massmart, announced at its recent annual conference that AfriSam is its Supplier of the Year. The Supplier of the Year title is awarded to the Massmart supplier who has exhibited the best all-round performance. Key criteria include sales growth, participation style, innovation, in-stock and collaborative trading behaviour. “This is the first time that AfriSam has won this award and, considering the size and number of other Massbuild suppliers, this is a very special achievement,” Grant Neser, AfriSam sales and marketing executive says. “We regard this as a significant achievement and proof that we’re making headway on our journey towards delivering a whole new level of service to our customers. Looking at the criteria for Supplier of the Year, this award reflects the effort, hard work and collaboration of the entire company in becoming the supplier of choice to this valuable strategic partner.”
Steven Botha, Massbuild group merchandise manager, commented: “AfriSam listens to us as a customer. The team understands our business and what the customers of Massbuild value. I can say with confidence that AfriSam is adding value to the Massbuild group and to our customers.” Neser adds that earning this prestigious title is particularly gratifying because it indicates the success of the company-wide Customer Value Management initiative that seeks to unlock value for AfriSam customers across the board in new and innovative ways. "The initiative has been implemented to propel us to a point where we naturally become our customers’ technical partner of choice in the cement and concrete arenas,” he says.
