JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The Chamber of Mines (CoM) has enlisted the services of a globally-recognised anonymous reporting channel for unethical behaviour in the workplace, Deloitte Tip-Offs Anonymous.

The reporting channel, the CoM said on Tuesday, is the most effective source of information to combat fraud.

Having an independent hotline to report unethical or criminal behaviour will assist the CoM to strengthen its first line of defense in combatting fraud, the chamber said in a statement.

The Deloitte Tip-Offs Anonymous service is an independent, confidential whistleblowing hotline service that operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week for 365 days a year.

Callers, whether employees, members, suppliers or managers, can report fraud and inappropriate activities at the CoM in a safe, confidential and secure way, the chamber highlighted.

Tip-off information can be provided by phoning the toll-free number on 0800 022 007, sending a fax to 0800 007 788 or emailing tip-offs to chamberofmines@tip-offs.com
