Cold storage solutions tailored to industrial environments

Industrial doors and dock loading equipment suited to cold storage and freezer environments assist in maintaining the constant temperatures required by the cold chain industry.

Entrance solutions seal in the chill to prevent product spoilage and contamination, without disrupting operations.

Door and dock loading solutions from Maxiflex are designed and developed to comply with international specifications and the requirements of cold rooms, cold storage and logistics facilities.

The company’s entrance systems include high-speed doors, insulated sectional doors, dock levellers and load houses. Key features include insulation and seals that prevent air exchange around doors, in between door panels and around dock levellers.

High-speed freezer and insulated sectional doors, as well as a range of other products from ASSA ABLOY, are also part of the company’s catalogue.  The high-speed doors offer prime sealing capabilities, opening and closing speeds of up to 2.4 metres a second as well as higher cycles of up to 100 an hour. Set to open every 20 to 25 minutes to prevent ice build-up on the curtain and side-guides, the freezer-doors are aimed at facilitating traffic flow and minimising temperature variations for regular interior climate control. In addition, they promise improved energy-efficiency and potentially reduced costs.

The insulated sectional doors are aimed at reducing opening times and subsequent cold air loss. The doors are electrically operated and balanced to minimise damage caused by negligent operation.

Dock loading solutions take into account the speed and efficiency of the loading and unloading process. The dock leveller and docking accessories include cushion seals and shelters designed to fit snugly around the truck to prevent loss of cold air from the building during the loading and unloading process.

Both air-powered and hydraulically operated dock levellers are available. Hydraulic dock levellers are fitted with standard, integrated stop-valves in the cylinders, to prevent the unit from falling if a truck accidentally drives or rolls away during the loading and unloading process. In addition, there are fewer parts underneath the dock leveller, aimed at reducing maintenance and facilitating easier cleaning to improve hygiene standards.

Load houses are complete separate loading platforms that comprise a leveller, shelter and door. Positioned on the outside of the building, these loading bay units are closed by an insulated and sealed sectional door, aimed at limiting the amount of air exchange during the loading process. In addition, the exterior placement of the leveller aims to maximise space in the warehouse and improve hygiene by preventing the ingress of dirt and pests into the building.

A range of polyvinyl chloride strip curtains and sheeting for sealing doorways in freezer environments, is also available.
