Cloud for Mining at Africa Mining Indaba
Local business solutions provider AccTech Systems, in conjunction with Global Micro, a leading African hosted infrastructure IT provider, will be demonstrating its cloud ERP solutions at Africa Mining Indaba 2014. The event will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 3 - 6 February 2014.
AccTech Systems will be showcasing its blueprint ERP solution for the mining industry and its various deployment options including hosted and cloud options.
Global Micro CEO JJ Milner says cloud computing has the potential to make mining and other organisations more responsive than ever. “Cloud computing promises economic advantages, speed, agility, flexibility, infinite elasticity and innovation along with reduced cost from an Opex and Capex perspective.”
AccTech Chief Executive Officer Tertius Zitzke says mine managers have less time than ever before to make business decisions, they urgently require sound operational and business intelligence tools to drive performance. “Preconfigured for the Mining industry, Sage ERP offers deployment options ranging from traditional on-premise deployments to modern and economic hosted options through partners such as Global Micro and AccTech;.”
The consolidation and extraction of data from remote mines with local systems is becoming a major challenge for mining groups in Africa. Sage ERP bridges the gap between financial information and production information by utilising a configurable set of workflow, maintenance and Business Intelligence (BI) tools that provides accurate information, anytime, anywhere, especially when utilizing the benefits of a cloud based deployment.
Milner says that traditionally mining companies faced various challenges when approached by the adoption of cloud computing: “The exploration or operational mines are typically located in remote areas with the head offices placed in the major centers across the globe. The boost of Internet connectivity for the African continent over the last five years now means that accessing production and operational data from remote sites for management reporting purposes is easier than ever when adopting a cloud based ERP strategy.
Trusted by mining companies across the globe, Sage ERP for mining delivers true value and predictable results across all aspects of the business including streamlined financials, incorporation of production and exploration data, visibility and control of the supply chain processes, asset management and maintenance and human resource management.
“AccTech’s ERP solutions for mining are a scalable set of modules that fit any mining operation ranging from junior miners in exploration, to mines in development through to full scale end-to-end mining groups,” Zitzke concludes.
