Project Description
The CLN 150 project will expand the logistics capacity of Carajás to 150-million metric tons a year of iron-ore.

The project involves the duplication of 125 km of the Carajás railroad and the construction of a rail terminal, in addition to Pier IV at the Ponta da Madeira.

Pier IV comprises onshore and offshore components.

The onshore component consists of two car dumpers, two stockyards, one stacker, two reclaimers and conveyor belts.

The offshore component comprises the South berth of Pier IV, a 1.6 km access bridge, a shiploader, an environmental monitoring system, a tugboat pier and other equipment.

$4.1-billion.

Duration
The project is expected to be commissioned by the second half of 2014.

Latest Developments
Vale has been granted the operational licence for Pier IV, which encompasses the onshore and offshore components of the project.
