Project Description
The project involves the construction of a new 36 500 m2 cultural facility on Seguin Island, in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris.
The musical facility will combine concert hall spaces for music teaching and training, recording studios, a seminar centre, restaurants and shops, as well as a large hall dedicated to modern music, with seating for between 4 000 and 6 000 people and a 1 100-seater auditorium dedicated to classical and contemporary music.
The auditorium, with its braided wood, will appear to float on a mirror of water. Surrounding the auditorium will be a large sail bearing more than 1 000 m2 of solar photovoltaic panels which will follow the sun.
The City of Music will also feature a promenade area that will be open to the general public.

Construction will begin on the project in March 2014 and conclude in June 2016.
