Chilalo graphite project, Tanzania
Name and Location
Chilalo graphite project, Tanzania.
Client
IMX Resources.
Project Description
A high-level study on Chilalo has concluded that the project has the criteria for a successful graphite operation.
The study has indicated that the project has high-grade mineral resources at the Shimba deposit.
The project also has excellent metallurgical characteristics, with initial testwork results showing a significant proportion of high-value large and jumbo flake material, as well as the capacity to produce a high-quality concentrate from basic flotation.

Latest Developments
Recent drilling has converted nearly 62% of the high-grade Shimba mineral resource, at the Chilalo graphite project, into the indicated category.
The Shimba deposit is now estimated to host a high-grade resource of about 9.2-million tonnes, grading 10.7% graphitic carbon, for 984 100 t of contained graphite – an increase of about 24% on the previous estimate.
The high-grade resource forms part of a total indicated and inferred resource estimate of 25.1-million tonnes at Shimba, which includes a low-grade inferred resource of 15.9-million tonnes, grading 3.3% graphitic carbon, for 523 000 t of contained graphite.
The conversion these resources to the indicated category has confirmed the robust nature of the deposit and further derisked development, ahead of the company’s prefeasibility study, which was expected to be released in November this year.
