Dual-listed Chalice on Friday announced the retirement of long-serving chairperson and founder Tim Goyder.

Goyder, who founded Chalice in 2006, has been the driving force behind the company’s growth, culminating most recently in the globally significant Julimar nickel/copper/platinum group elements discovery near Perth.

Chalice announced that Derek La Ferla would be appointed as an independent nonexecutive director and subject to re-election at the upcoming annual general meeting in November, he would be appointed chairperson.

La Ferla has wide-ranging board experience across a number of corporations in Western Australia, including as chairperson of midtier copper miner Sandfire Resources. He is also chairperson of Poisedon Nickel and on the national board of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
