PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior Carabella Resources has announced a maiden Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant reserve of 11-million tonnes at its Bluff coal project, in Queensland.

In July, the ASX-listed Carabella announced a resource estimate of 21.5-million tonnes, comprising an indicated resource of 11.2-million tonnes and an inferred resource of 10.3-million tonnes for the Bluff project.

The company said on Monday that it had now lodged an environmental authority application for the project. The environmental application would be assessed under a six-stage approvals process, with the mining lease application to be processed in parallel.

Carabella was hoping that project approvals would be granted in the first quarter of next year.
