Commercial property company Broll Property Group CEO Malcolm Horne received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Property Investment (API) Awards for his two decades of dedication to the property industry.

This award has acknowledged his extensive experience in the real estate sector and his solid record of driving growth in companies operating in developing and complex environments. Under his leadership, the progressive property group has expanded into an international market leader renowned for integrity and client excellence.

For the Lifetime Achievement Award, entrants are judged on consistency and resilience in the African real estate sector, and their ability to be an industry thought leader.

Further, candidates must have quantifiable achievements in the last 20 years, and business or organisation performance or transformation under the nominee’s leadership must be achieved. The nominee must also stand out from the rest in the African real estate industry.

Horne has clearly demonstrated these attributes throughout his extensive career in the property business, starting as portfolio executive and then being promoted to MD and finally Group CEO. He is an industry mentor and seasoned property expert, with a special interest in achieving an optimal balance between good corporate governance and entrepreneurial growth, the API Awards said.

“I am honoured to have been given this award and I’m thankful for my team across the continent, as well our clients and industry colleagues who have inspired me to keep looking forward and to lead with integrity,” Horne said.

“I believe that upholding industry standards and sharing experience and knowledge are essential in maintaining quality and integrity in the property industry, and the API Awards go a long way in helping to achieve this,” he added.

The API Awards recognise and promote excellence in Africa’s rising real estate sector and have become a critical benchmark for measuring success in the industry.

The awards are open to developers, professional teams, consultants, suppliers and property owners involved in the African real estate industry. To ensure impartiality and objectivity, the awards are judged by a panel of industry experts and thought leaders, API Awards noted.
