Atlas Copco Portable Energy’s HiLight light tower range features cutting-edge lighting technology to deliver efficient and reliable lighting for improved safety and increased productivity on job sites.

With an impressively wide set of flexible and dynamic lighting options, the LED light towers are a perfect solution for multiple applications across diverse industries including mining, construction, road-making, outdoor events, etc. Given that safety remains the number one priority for customers and end-users, whose operations work 24/7 irrespective of industry type, Atlas Copco has invested intensive research into the development of this industry-leading range of efficient light towers. “Our pioneering LED technology addresses our customers’ efficiency and safety requirements and provides extensive operational savings for the end-user,” notes Portable Energy Business Line Manager, David Stanford.

Demonstrating the latest LED technology, dedicated power packs protect against under-loading of the engine which leads to optimised power output and improved efficiency while buy the same token the lifetime of the LED models’ power pack module is also improved.

The LED light towers feature a unique, fully directional optic lens. This special optic design which is particularly suited for construction and mining applications maximises practical light coverage while minimising ‘dark spots’. The result, efficient and effective job site lighting all rolled into one. A single LED light tower can illuminate up to 5,000m2 with an average brightness of 20 lux (model dependent). Depending on the model, the LED light towers can operate for some 260 hours between refueling while impressively consuming less than 0.5 litres of fuel per hour. This, according to Stanford, translates to a remarkable 70% reduction in CO2 emissions. “If you add the fact that the LED HiLight models minimise the need for regular bulb replacements which is typical in many construction environments, then it is difficult to beat these units when it comes to end-user savings and a green footprint.”

Designed for both portability and performance, the heavy-duty LED floodlights’ high ingress protection (IP) and impact protection (IK) ratings ensure higher durability without any deterioration in lux level while providing instant light.

The HiLight range which comprises a full range of LED and Metal Halide models has been expanded to seven models in total.

Ideal for large construction sites where workers are constantly on the move, the premium HiLight H5+ demonstrates exceptional fuel consumption. With 4 LED lamps each projecting 350W of light, the unit can illuminate an area of 5,000m2, offering the best luminosity. Both the H5+ and the B5+ are perfect for mass transportation and easy installation thanks to their compact dimensions.

What is more, the HiLight V4 and V5+ models boast the most compact footprint within the manual mast segment, enabling users to load up to 20 units per truck. The models also integrate a number of important features, including a spillage free frame and the renowned HardHat® polyethylene canopy, which is extremely durable under harsh conditions and protects against corrosion.

Completing the newly expanded range, the new electric HiLight E2 and E3+ demonstrate exceptional plug-and-light capabilities. Users simply connect to any power source, including auxiliary power, electrical generator or directly into the grid, which helps deliver superior levels of energy efficiency. The E2 and E3+ can illuminate areas of approximately 2,000m2 and 3,000m2 respectively. They can be used for applications including events, urban construction, road construction and temporary public lighting.

Atlas Copco’s Portable Energy division leads the market with a comprehensive portfolio of on-site portable compressors, generators, light towers and dewatering pump solutions. Air, power, light and water form the four pillars of this innovative division within Atlas Copco Construction Technique. Stanford says that the product ranges within each of these four pillars are underpinned by a forward-thinking approach and a unique value proposition. “Our forward-thinking philosophy embraces continuous improvement of product performance, reliability and efficiency to take on even the most stringent conditions. It embraces engineering and manufacturing excellence, environmental consciousness and finally, expert service.

It is this value proposition that differentiates us as a preferred portable energy partner and supplier of inherently energy efficient, light-weight, compact, transport and installation friendly products that meet customers’ exact needs and contribute to enhanced customer productivity at the lowest cost of ownership over the products’ lifetime.”
