PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Bryah Resources and its joint venture (JV) partner OM Manganese have been granted two mining licences over the Bryah Basin manganese project, in Western Australia.

“The mining licences that have been granted are an important step in moving the JV’s successful manganese exploration to the production stage. Additional tonnes are expected to be added to the current Joint Ore Reserve Committee resource from recent drilling at Red Rum and Brumby Creek West,” said Bryah CEO Ashley Jones.

“The mining licence applications and environmental permitting process are prerequisites to getting this manganese mining area back into production.”

A maiden mineral resource of 1.84-million tonnes, grading 21% manganese was announced at the manganese JV in March last year, and drill results from the drilling completed in August this year are expected to be released this quarter.

Bryah holds a 49% interest in the JV, with OM Manganese, a subsidiary of ASX-listed OM Holdings, holding the remaining 51% interest.
