Client
Électricité de France (EDF) and GE Energy signed a partnership agreement in 2011 to develop the plant.
Project Description
The project involves the construction of new combined-cycle plant in Bouchain, an existing EDF power plant site in northern France, and will produce 510 MW, enough electricity to power 600 000 households.
The power plant will showcase GE’s FlexEfficiency 50 plant – an integrated, highly efficient system that includes a next-generation 9FB gas turbine, a 109D-14 steam turbine that runs on the waste heat produced by the gas turbine, an advanced W28 generator and GE’s trademark Mark Vle control system that links all of the technologies, as well as a heat-recovery steam generator.
Value
The cost has not been confirmed; however, EDF and GE will invest in the plant.
Duration
The plan is scheduled to be brought into service in late 2015.
