Gold exploration and development company Black Cat Syndicate is on the verge of being rated a producer, as the company continues to progress its operations in Western Australia.

The ASX-listed company on Monday announced a significant milestone with the first ore mined at the Myhree/Boundary openpit, which forms part of the Kal East gold project. The stockpiled ore from Myhree will be hauled to the Paddington processing plant in September.

“Having commenced underground development at Paulsens and first ore mining at Kal East, we are only a gold pour away from being rerated from an explorer to a producer,” said Black Cat MD Gareth Solly.

He said it was fitting that the first ore was mined from Myhree, as it was the company’s inaugural discovery in 2019.

In May, Black Cat announced a turnkey, development and processing package in relation to the Myhree/Boundary openpits, that would see ore processed at the Paddington plant.

Mineral Mining Services (MMS) is providing all funding, people and equipment for the turnkey package.

“MMS is making excellent progress both on a safety and productivity front in developing Myhree/Boundary, with 24-hour load and haul operations under way and ore stockpile construction under way,” said Solly.
