Biometric Control System Maintains ControlBooyco Electronics’ pioneering biometric control system effectively addresses the challenge of maintaining proper control of underground machine operators. This unique system uses fingerprints to authenticate licensed machine operators. Unique personalised smart cards issued to operators store their fingerprints and details of all their licensed capabilities, with expiry dates. This means the only way an operator can access and operate a given machine is if the scanning device on the machine validates his fingerprint.

This same level of control can be applied underground in other control environments, such as explosive magazines and access control to underground substations.

The development of the biometric control system makes provision for an IS unit, powered by an IS power supply housed in a flameproof enclosure, for use in local coal mines. Communications to and from the biometric device takes places via an approved control module. In terms of affordability, the new biometric control system is highly cost effective in relation to the value it adds.

Booyco Electronics is a single source market leader that supplies quality specialised electronic safety equipment, including collision intervention systems. Its range of reliable accurate warning, locating and monitoring systems is engineered to operate in the harsh African conditions.
