Company Announcement - Looking for an outstanding floor solution to complement their upmarket panel beating business, CMC Auto Panel in Brackenfell, Cape Town, commissioned Quickslab Concrete Grinding & Polishing to produce a 1 000 m² white concrete floor incorporating a specified blend of stone. “White concrete work is a special challenge,” comments Johan Coetzee, Quickslab Concrete Grinding & Polishing. “However, we had partnered with Lafarge South Africa many times, often on difficult jobs, and were confident they could provide the concrete solution.”
Lafarge South Africa is a member of the LafargeHolcim group, the world leader in the building materials industry. In Southern Africa, the company has a strong presence in its various business lines of cement, aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, fly ash, gypsum plasterboard and interior building fittings, and is recognised as a market leader in providing innovative products and solutions.
For the large floor of CMC Auto Panel’s business, it was critical to have absolute consistency in the concrete mix and ensure there was no risk of contamination in the production process or supply chain. “Lafarge is unquestionably our preferred concrete supply partner,” says Coetzee. “Combining their immense technical experience with our extensive experience with polishing, produced a highly successful and beautiful floor for CMC Auto Panel.”
“ArteviaTM is an extremely versatile decorative concrete but also a strong, durable structural concrete that is easy to maintain and will cope with the rough treatment you can expect in a panel beating shop.” comments Alta Theron, Lafarge South Africa’s Interim General Manager: Readymix. “The CMC Auto Panel floor is an excellent advertisement for ArteviaTM and is arousing strong interest in the Cape Town area.”
