JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed Bauba Platinum has appointed Carl-Heinz Gernandt to succeed Willem Moolman as FD, effective May 30.

Gernandt obtained a BCom internal auditing degree from the University of Pretoria in 2002 and was a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and Certified General Accountant British Columbia.

He previously held directorships and financial, managerial and internal auditing positions at various listed and auditing-related companies. His experience within the mining sector included roles as group financial manager at Jubilee Platinum and FD at Mine Restoration Investments.

Bauba further reported on Friday that Jonathan Best and Kenneth Dicks had resigned as independent nonexecutive directors, citing personal reasons.

Founding member of Hernic Ferrochrome, Bauba Platinum and GoldStone Resources Nico van der Hoven was appointed nonexecutive director, along with Martin Luyt.

Nick van der Hoven was appointed executive director.
