JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Australian mining services group Ausdrill has been awarded a contract for additional works at Perseus Mining’s Edikan gold mine, in Ghana.

The additional works would generate about $120-million in revenue over a 42-month period, with mining expected to start in September this year, Ausdrill reported in a statement on Thursday.

The additional works include drilling, blasting, load and haul operations at the Esuajah North pits.

Ausdrill stated that it would source the equipment required to perform the works mainly from its African Mining Services (AMS) subsidiary’s existing fleet.

AMS has been providing mining services to Perseus since 2011.
