Atlantis Phase 3 expansion.

Location
The project is located in the Atlantis field, in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Project Owner/s
British multinational oil and gas company bp (56%) and multinational mining company BHP (44%).

Project Description
Atlantis Phase 3 will include the construction of a new subsea production system from eight new wells, which will be tied into the current platform, about 240 km south of New Orleans.

The project is expected to boost production at the platform by an estimated 38 000 bbl/d of oil equivalent gross at its peak. It will also access the eastern area of the field, where advanced imaging and reservoir charac­terisation have identified additional oil in place.

$1.3-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
First production was achieved in September 2020, ahead of schedule and on budget.

The drilling and completion activities of the remaining wells will continue to be progressed as part of planned asset activities.
