Latest Developments
Harvest Minerals has expanded the current mining area and added additional run of mine (RoM) storage capacity at its Arapua project, where it produces KPFértil, a multinutrient direct-application natural remineraliser.

The company has increased the size of the current openpit by stripping the soil cover from about 6 000 m2 and exposing 70 000 t of weathered kamafugite, which is being mined using the company's own equipment.

Owing to the heavily weathered nature of the ore, it has required no blasting and is simply being loaded onto trucks by a loader to be taken to the RoM storage area. As part of this work, a new RoM storage area has been created adjacent to the pit.

The expanded RoM storage facilities will also provide Harvest with more flexibility in ore handling, as well as further production development and product storage facilities going forward.

About 10 000 t of topsoil has been removed, which has been stored in the organic stockpile, where it will be used for environmental restoration at a later date.
