The development of the Arabiyah and Hasbah fields encompasses the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of 12 wellhead platforms, two tie-in platforms and one injection platform, as well as a 36″, 260-km-long export trunkline and about 200 km of monoethylene glycol pipelines, 200 km of subsea electric and control cables, and 40 km of offshore flowlines.

The scope of work also includes the shore approaches and about 120 km of onshore pipelines.

Latest Developments
Chiyoda Corporation announced in July that Emas Chiyoda Subsea, a 50:50 joint venture company owned by Ezra Holdings and Chiyoda, in partnership with Larsen & Toubro, had been awarded a contract by Saudi Aramco to provide integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation services for the development of the second phase of the Hasbah offshore gasfield. The contract is valued at $1.6-billion. The consortium will be involved in the construction of two streams of three wellhead platform topsides, one tie-in platform with flare platforms, and bridges tied together by umbilicals and infield pipelines.

Other works include interconnections to trunklines to transport gas produced from the offshore gasfield to the Fadhili gas plant. Fibre-optic cables and other cables for power and communication networks will also be installed.
