Established in 2001, Applied Mineral Technologies (Amtec) has grown into a large structural, mechanical, platework and piping (SMPP) services company specialising in the fabrication and construction of materials handling systems and processing plants for clients in the coal, diamonds, iron-ore, tantalite, platinum, gold, gemstone and metal-from-slag sectors.

The company, with over 100 permanent employees – ranging from construction assistants to professional engineers – has successfully completed SMPP projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa, and is currently implementing similar projects in Sierra Leone.
